the static from my radio alarm jolts me awake every morning. today was louder than usual because I turned it up after the all-nighter to make sure I got up. the tuner dial got bumped so it's not actually on a station - just static.
I drove myself to school because Becca was late (again), but it all worked out because English was cancelled again and she had to stay at the school. I haven't had English since last Friday, and I'm quite happy about this. in French, we started signing up to buy pastries for our pastry-tasting party next Wednesday. so we're all laid back about that, but freaking out for our mid-term this Friday. my studying habits have not been good lately.
once home, I practiced piano for a long time. I haven't practiced much this week, and unfortunately it shows. my teacher is getting a lot more strict with me as I am playing harder music. not doing Hannon or not practicing enough is very obvious. rats.
was interrupted during piano by the phone - it happened to be my penpal calling to make sure he had the right address for the new house, right phone number, wish me happy birthday, etc. we share a birthday, actually, so I wished him happy birthday too. we talked for a while of this and that.
at lunch early because I am currently about to leave for my piano lesson. and I'm teaching tonight...starting a new student. that's always somewhat interesting.
oh yes, and it snowed this morning, though it didn't stick. what the....? it was freezing. yesterday was very warm in comparison. I can't wait for spring.
ok, I have to go. this has been my day so far. not that interesting, I know. let's get a discussion going - I will leave you with a question: what is currently your single favorite movie? (of course I understand if you can only narrow it down to two or three....)
hahahahaha
Pirates. I just watched the first two again, and hopefully I can see the 3rd one very very very soon. The first one, in particular, is sooo good.
ReplyDeleteAnd A Walk to Remember. Which I FINALLY saw, and I think it's amazing.
Oh sweet! I haven't seen A Walk to Remember yet actually...my parents haven't gotten to editing that one yet. I think the next "to be edited" one on the list is Titanic.
ReplyDeletePirates is amazing...all of them. you know I won't argue with you there! I'm trying to decide what to watch while my parents are gone. I'm thinking I'm way overdue for a LotR marathon. *smirk*
i have to second eowyn on a walk to remember. but i really like inkheart, mostly because it's most prominant in my mind right now, lol.
ReplyDeleteyou got snow too????
how weird. it was snowing a snowstorm up here, but nothing stuck here either. *sighs* i wish i could have gone outside when the snow happend. oh well.
none of it stuck here either. I was driving in it and it was really pretty. but I'm glad it didn't stick, just because of school stuff. no students at my school know how to drive in a parking lot in the snow....*sigh*
ReplyDeleteYeeaah, I'm waiting to watch Titanic with my parents so we can skip certain scenes. :P
ReplyDeleteYou should totally see A Walk to Remember . . . I'm not certain what would need to be edited though, I'm not remembering anything. I'm probably forgetting.
Man, everyone is getting some snow, even if it doesn't stick. There was one time yesterday when you could say it was snowing, very briefly. Katie's dance teacher, who lives in Olympia, got snowed in!
Wow, that's crazy! yeah, nothing stuck here at all - it was coming down pretty hard for about an hour. looked nice, but today it's sunny. it's still absolutely freezing though.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, my parents forget a lot of things in movies so they always have to go back and watch the old ones again before I can watch them. I'll have to ask about that one again. yeah Titanic has a lot of stuff in it.
I guess Leonardo diCaprio and Kate Winslet are in another movie together coming out soon....I saw a trailer and it looks awful.
in a walk to remember, there is one seen where a friend of the main character makes certain motions that are very . . . . innopropriate. it's a small 10 seconds though, so you wouldn't miss much.
ReplyDeleteby the way, i would recomend "kids in mind". it's a site that gives full and detailed information about movies and innopropriate content.
what movie is that? (that the trailer too looked really bad)
My parents usually look at christiananswers.net....same basic concept I think. I've heard of kids in mind though. Christians Answers.net is pretty funny because every movie gets an "Offensive" rating, lol. but it has a lot of information about what's in it and when to skip, which is helpful.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember what it was called - it was something about them moving to Paris and trying to live a life better than just mundane, normalness. I don't know...in the trailer they were just getting really frustrated and yelling at each other. it just didn't look very good. I'm sure the critics will be raving about it for years to come.
Oh, I just looked it up, it's called Revolutionary Road.
:)
Yeah I would have to say that my favorite movies as of right now are A Walk to Remember and Fireproof. Have any of your seen Fireproof yet? It is one of my all time favs besides just right now!! I was really impressed at how well done it was and that they didn't stereo type christianity, which most movies do. That is the one movie that got me very near to bawling my eyes out. Which, if you know me, is very very rare for a movie to do.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I really want to see Fireproof . . .
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I totally forgot to mention Twilight, which is probably another one at the top. But I need to see it again to know . . . so many movies, so little time.
I didn't find A Walk to Remember to be that amazing. It was good though. My favorite is without a doubt, the LOTR series. Those are amazing movies. I like the first two Pirates and like them a lot but, *glares at Beth* I haven't seen the third one. Its terribly frustrating. The girls get to see a movie at a sleepover, Mom and dad watch it some other time and who remembers that Katie hasn't seen it? I really want to see August Rush . ..
ReplyDeleteMmmm yes, August Rush was really good, imho. But some people didn't like it. I think it's one of those you-like-it-or-you-don't movies.
ReplyDeleteMy mom bawled in Fireproof too, Lucy! I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure I will soon. is it out yet?
Ok, I'll have to see about a Walk to Remember very soon....maybe on Monday? no school=heaven. :)
Go Kaite!!!! LotR. yes, I'm going to do a marathon sometime soon. I don't know when though - hopefully the week my parents are gone.
did I tell you guys I'm gonna be home alone for a whole week?
amazing. i don't get to be alone for more then 3 hours.
ReplyDeletemy mom just bought fireproof, and i'm amazed. we never buy movies unless its for christmas or birthdays. i've not seen it, but i have a nasty feeling it's going to be a "drama" movie about some persons problems. i mean seriously, the back of the movie cover says it's his toughest job ever, "rescuing his wifes heart" (and that was a direct quote)
those movies just don't work well with me. though i can see how they can be very affecting to a lot of other people.
Well, give it a chance before you pass judgment. :)
ReplyDeleteooooooooooh fine.
ReplyDeleteIt is out. As soon as I have some money, it is coming home with me. It was really neat to see it all sold out at Blockbuster. It is a great witnessing tool. I haven't said that about any movie.
ReplyDeleteOh, btw, August Rush is an awesome movie too!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha I have a very different perspective on cold and snow, but I'm living on the bit of the extreme side. :)
ReplyDeletePirates1 - love
LOTR - love
Fireproof - love
A walk to Remember -love
Titanic - love in a tragic mood
August Rush - I'll make a short comment of NO.
Right now I am in love with The Jane Austen Book Club, Pride and Prejudice, Emma. :) I'm in a old brittish era mood.
I am resisting the temptation to respond to Jake's comment about Fireproof.
:)
lol ok, ok,i take back what i said, and will abstain from further comments on fireproof 'till i have watched it.
ReplyDelete*rolls eyes* Why is it always my fault when Katie hasn't seen a movie?
ReplyDeletedoes that seem fair, you guys?
lol, yeah, don't pass the judgement yet, Jacob.
I pretty much agree with Bo about fireproof. And I have actually seen it. Great message, borring movie. Basically.
ReplyDeleteJust, you know, for the record.
