*sigh* life goes on, and right now it goes on quite well. have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE study day?? It's wonderful - you get the day off to "study," aka sleep in and do whatever you want. My mom and Mitchell and I went to Black Diamond this morning, at biscuits and gravy and went to Baker Street Books, where I bought this wonderful copy of Northanger Abbey that has all kinds of fun extra stuff in it. and then we went to Comstock's bookstore here in Auburn where Mitchell spent way too much money, and bought me a graduation present: a very rare and hard to find copy of Dickens' "The Life of Our Lord" - the story of the life of Jesus written for his children. It was never intended to be published, but his grandchildren published it. I've only ever seen one other copy of it. so I'm very happy today. :)
I finished and turned in my English paper today! All that's left is the history presentation, which I'm almost ready for. Meaning, I am ready, I just need to print out my notes and go over them a couple times before Friday. It's sooooooooooooo nice to have school almost done!
My grad party is this Sunday. So is my orientation for Bath and Body Works, FINALLY. And they actually want me from 9:00-3:30, which of course I can't do because my party starts at 1:00. But at least I get half of it over with and maybe I can start work soon.
Although, we leave on vacation next Friday. so...........*sigh* I hope this is a good job for me.
Sunday also marks the end of my piano recital craziness! I'm playing five amazing pieces during my open house thing, and then I'm done with performing for the forseeable future. this makes me EXTREMELY happy. :D
tonight I'm going to go to worship practice with my band, even though I won't be playing with them this weekend. I still want to hang out, and they're missing some people so keyboard would really help them out. I think I'm going to make cookies or something before I go.
tomorrow, Mitchell and I are going to Pike Place Market, for the entire day. :) absolute felicity is mine.................
then Friday is the last day of school. basically just listening to presentations in history and giving one with the rest of the group. and then it's summer!!
let's see, what else............
my mom got a Mac. we have officially converted to the dark side. hahaha, her old laptop has been giving her fits forever, and she's been saving up for a new one forever, and so finally she was able to get it. it came with an iPod touch, which I quickly commandeered. I would be most grateful if someone would explain to me how it works now, having remained in the world of MP3 players and Windows up till now.
I'm reading Mansfield park and I'm getting close to done. after this, it's lots and lots of Dickens, all summer long. I really want to read through his stuff in the order it was written, and kind of journal my way through it. I tend to get rather contemplative when I read Dickens. of course, I'll bring along some fantasy and whatnot for when I need something lighter (Mitchell has tons of stuff I apparently have to read). between a two week massively long road trip and two weeks of boating with pretty much nothing to do, I'm going to have so much time for reading. *happiness*
ah, we had our first misunderstanding not-quite-fight thing with Mitchell the other day. we worked our way through it pretty well and everything is great again, and actually I think we're all kind of glad that it happened, because we were able to talk through it and understand each other even better. anyway, it was interesting.
I guess that's it. I'm going to make cookies and finish this bag that I started like a month ago, so I can move all my stuff into it for tomorrow. :)
Well sounds like a fantastic day there! :)
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's something about Wednesdays. My wednesdays have been terrific lately too...well actually they usually are. Especially last wednesday though, when my friend David completely made my day by surprise visiting me while I was working at the library. I could hardly believe he walked a mile in a downpour to give me a comic book, a mountain dew, & a hug.... lol. :)
and PIKE PLACE!!! I've been dying to go back there ever since I saw it the first time on spring break last year. That's awesome :D
I hope your recital went well!!!
