I will not say the day is done, nor bid the stars fairwell

we're coming home tomorrow.

and surprise surprise, I'm ready to come home. I really am. I love it here, I really do, but I'm also ready to be back. back with my cats, and my piano (*tries not to think about recital in one week*), with my own bed -I sound like an adult- and yes, even my job. *gasp* getting back into my routinely scheduled life, school and chores included. youth group - gosh I miss my youth group. being somewhere where I can actually drive again! I didn't think I'd miss the freedom of driving and picking my own music so much for 10 days.

no, I don't even want to do this every other day. I'd be more sunburnt than I am in a big hurry. I'd pretend not to notice David Copperfield and stick in a movie instead. I'd eat mostly junk food and the only exercise would be walking to the ice cream store.

Gosh I sound terrible. I sound like vacation is a bad thing. It isn't, I've loved every minute of being here. Hawaii is beautiful (no matter how hot) but I couldn't be here more than a couple of weeks. Island fever? I don't think so, there's still lots to do. more like homesickness. deep down, I'm a terrible homebody.

all that to say, I'm glad to be coming home.

(*dances* Mike e-mailed me back yesterday!!! it made my whole day!!!)

oh, so today we went to the ocean for the last time. I didn't get up at 6:00 to go snorkeling, but in the afternoon we went boogie boarding. and after riding a wave in I decided to move our stuff farther up and further in so it wouldn't get wet. and as I finished doing that, I looked up just in time to see an umbrella bearing down at high speeds. yes, I've now been run over by more than tall people - I've been run over by an umbrella as well. it was crazy too, because I actually caught the thing as I was putting my hands up in self-defense. the guy next to me says, "good catch," his wife says, "are you alright?" rather surprised at my own talent, I reply that I'm fine. but I'm just sitting there holding it, laughing my head off, trying not to open my eyes because my face is now covered in sand. then all of a sudden the umbrella gets yanked away from me, and my eyes involuntarily open to see since when umbrellas acquired a will of their own to run people over and then leave. another guy asking if I'm okay. just completely ignore the fact that I'm laughing people, no, I think I'm going to have a heart attack and die from your umbrella. yes, I'm fine. but I think, if the umbrella doesn't object, I'll get back in the water and get the sand out of my eyes.
half-way back to the water I noticed a nice little patch of skin missing and being rapidly replaced by blood on my hand. spent the next half hour trying to boogie board and keep sand out of the scrape at the same time, which didn't really work. so here's my dilemma people - should I sue the umbrella owner for heavy damages? or perhaps I could join the circus as master and professional umbrella catcher, provided I wear gloves. or here's an idea - how about I make my living by going from McDonald's to McDonald's spilling hot coffee on myself and sueing for 10-15 million at a time?

today I'm feeling sarcastic and mischievous at the same time. oh, and I found this amazing feature on blogger: कैसी that's my name in Hindi. I found this on a sidebar completely by accident, but I think it's pretty amazing how it works. I can write anything in Hindi transliteration, and this feature will change it into the Devanagari script. yes, probably none of this makes any sense, but I'm quite excited about it.

alrighty then. tomorrow morning we're packing everything, and we won't get home until really late at night (especially taking the 3-hour time difference into account), so you may not hear from me again until Sunday. This seems to be the time for everyone I know to fly somewhere. :P

  2. Thanks Beth, I wish I could take credit for them! My dad is a pretty good photographer though. We had a blast, but now that I'm back it's really good to be home. Like all I'm doing is playing piano and petting my cats!

  7. *POOF* I'm here! lol Sorry, I've been abandoning my computer lately. I really don't like being on the computer these days, least not for the things I really should be doing...

    Anyways.

GLAD you're back!! I got your letter the other day and will WRITE YOU BACK! Maybe.... I'm very awful about my letters anymore. ugh.

So why is Verya so nervous and grumpy???

  8. oh my recital was last night haha. it was a pretty terrible day leading up to it...with all the butterflies and stuff. but my performance went mostly fine. my PotC medley was like perfect, and Tarantella was ok - I just left out half of the middle section, but apparently no one noticed - not even my teacher! (okay, slightly scary here...). Anyway, then I met Anna for my old co-op's formal/dance, which was a blast so that was like the compensation.

    :) all better now.

  14. rotflol, I love the part about your umbrella encounter! ha! That was great.

Sounds like a cool trip though. I've always thought it'd be neat to go to Hawaii and go snorkeling... I'd be honestly suprised if I ever get to in my lifetime though.

  15. Hm. and that comment of mine is far enough down that it seems so terribly out of place...oh well. I have so many blogs here that I really should get on more often.
