Hawaii's version of the Misty Mountains............this is up on Haleakala, Maui's dormant volcano. we went up there yesterday to watch the sunset.
this one kind of speaks for itself - I've been on a mountain taller than Mt. Everest!

the famous Silver Sword. look but don't touch. as our guide book so eloquently put it, "fines for damaging this plant will cost more than your entire vacation." makes for a nice picture though.
no CG effects here guys, this is seriously what it looked like. Dad was just taking pics of this tiny little plant and then the sun came out and this is what it looked like.
