Ok, so we're here! The ferry ride was ok, although the weather was overcast and windy almost the whole way. :( And I like more hands-on sailing. Handling the lines and smelling the salty sea and being near the water. Or driving...with my hands on the helm. Or standing in the bow riding the wakes...
Yeah so I love sailing! Does this count as addiction? I'm not sure, but being couped up in a ferry boat wasn't my idea of fun today. I like boating. I don't like riding.
So then we had to go through customs. And I made an oops. I am borrowing a camera from my granparents that they're letting me use for the trip, and I get really picture-happy when I have unlimited access to a camera. So I was taking a ton of pictures and getting to know the camera and stuff. It was fun! Then we landed in Canada and right before we reached customs, I'm like, "Do you think they frown on taking pictures here?" Apparently no one heard me because no one answered. So I snapped a picture for the scrapbook.Right as we pulled up to customs. And they're like, "You can't take pictures here!"But you know Canadians. They're so nice about everything...Americans would have taken your camera! They just said, "Don't do that," and I blushed and said I was sorry I didn't know and we drove off. Really easy though. American customs are always so mean! I'm not really looking forward to that part of going home.
So then we couldn't check into the B&B where we're staying until 2:30, and it was like 11:00, so we decided to get an early lunch at a little bakery/pastry shop my grandparents had been to. I got a beef pie. It was pretty good...esp. the beef part! And then we got dessert there too. Chocolate eclair!!! Oh I should have taken a picture of that! But we are planning to go there again before we leave, since everyone liked it.
Then we walked around town for a bit; looked into the shops and whatnot. And my grandpa found out that he'd forgotten his hat, so he "had to buy one." And my grandma found out that he continually forgets his hats on purpose just so he can buy a new one wherever they're going.
That was interesting.
:)
Then we went to the beach and collected stuff and walked around some more until it was time to check in. After check-in, we were just settling in and I took a shower (since it was way too early this morning and I wanted an extra 20 minutes of sleep!) and then spent 10 more minutes trying to do my hair a new way (finally it worked!) in a half-bun. Which is just like a whole bun only you just use the top half of your hair. After I had tried (and failed) to do a pony bun because that is a two-person job I found out.
I know you're finding this all very interesting, esp. you El w/ the part about my hair...
And soon we're gonna go to a market thingy and then either get some food to cook here or find a place to eat out. Not sure yet. But the B&B is very nice...and very spacious too. :)
Right now everyone else is watching Master and Commander. Frankly I'v decided that I'm not into it. Anyone seen it? See, my dad LOVES it, but my mom thought it was boring the first time she saw it. So my dad's trying to get me to think I'll like it and my mom's saying I won't, and I've always thought I probably wouldn't. Anyway they started it while I was showering and then I came out and gave it a try. And I've decided it's not really my thing. I guess it's not really boring, or esp. violent, it's kinda funny, but it's just a weird mix that I find...I don't know. Maybe just not my style. It is rather bloody. I don't normally mind that (like it doesn't really bug me) but maybe I'm just not in the mood. I don't know, I'm not really watching it, just listening. We'll see.
I think tonight we're gonna watch Second-hand Lions. So good! And my grandparents haven't seen it yet.
If they want to watch another movie.
Ok we're gonna leave now and go to the market. See ya'll later!
Namarie!

MASTER AND COMMANDER!!!!!!!1 AH!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI never did finish that movie.
and I think I only liked it cause I was really really sugar high, and my friend Kayla was really really sugar high, and we're in a room full of teenagers who are older then us and cool (unlike us), and they're all telling us to be quiet, so we scream louder.
I mean, how can you not like a movie in that situation?
but we never did finish it. sadly.
Great. So now you're only home in the middle of the night. Your parents will love me calling then! Jk. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, when you're on a sugar high and have no attention span, it's easy to like just about anything.
Ate dinner at a Greek place...more tomorrow but now I'm a little tired and more calmed down so maybe I'll like it more...we'll see.
You posted yay!!! I told everyone to post on your blog.
See ya tomorrow everyone!
it was indeed fun. I enjoyed it. but then again, anything's fun on a sugar high.
