so do what all the smart dogs do/and you'll feel great the whole day through/you can be a champion too/if you eat kanine krunchies!

hello. i'm back. i'm leaving again. such is life. such is summer.

I'm at my grandparents' now and tomorrow we're heading out, the first day of two splendiferous weeks of doing supremely nothing, only this type of nothing is the best kind, as it's done on a boat. and there is something magical about boating. about being so contentedly happy, living, three people, on something 31 feet long that floats and doesn't have a shower curtain in the bathroom.

we went shopping today and supplied ourselves with red meat so that there would not be violence, mutiny or bloodshed during the voyage (my grandparents don't eat red meat but I go through withdrawals and get nasty after about a week without). there is also a nice tidy supply of Dickens, Great Britain guidebooks, and two "normal" books - The Art of Loving (which I was lucky enough to find at the library this morning), and Blue Like Jazz (many thanks to Elizabeth for letting me borrow it!). plus lots of junk food, too many clothes, a laptop, and a sleeping bag. and breakfast food. ultra important.

and music.

for a couple of days (probably) I'll still have minimal internet access, but once we cross into Canada, where we'll spend most of the trip, no phone and no internet. sad day.
but actually, I think it will be really good for me. there's something nice about being forced to relinquish the distractions of life and really, truly, take it easy.

so now I'm off to watch the Young Victoria on Blue Ray, and then get a decent night's sleep to gear up for all this relaxing. :P

in other news, I might get hired at Menchies *happy dance* I have an interview sometime after my vacation. :D

also, I got into an online PE class in the winter, which means that Mitchell and I can go jogging every day together and call it PE credits. thank the Lord.

I might play piano accompaniment for my choir in the fall. and luckily, my teacher can get me the music pretty darn soon, which means I would have more than 6 weeks to learn it. again, thank the Lord.

I finally figure out my iPod Touch, and how full of amazingness it is. happy day.

I bought lemonade from these adorable kids in Enumclaw yesterday while I was visiting my friend Becca. they were so cute - made my day.

last night I finished that 8-hour Royal Shakespeare Company stage version of Nicholas Nickleby. the one I started back in the spring, and promptly gave up on because there wasn't time to watch it. I put it on hold, got it back last week, and have been watching an hour or so each day; last night I finished it and it was pretty incredible. the ending was so feel-good and happy, but the tragedy still hung over the whole thing, so it was bittersweet and triumphant at the same time. beautiful.

anyway, I am off. dear friends, keep Blogger alive and don't die while I'm gone! and enjoy your summer. i misses you. August will be a fantastic month!
