Guess what? I just got a laptop! and I just got a job! no kidding!
ah yes, and I passed the written for my license. :P YAY!!!! I missed all five that you're allowed to miss (they asked me like four questions about drinking and driving, which I don't plan to be doing, and one stupid bicycle headlight question…..), but I guess the important part is that I passed. Please pray for me though, because I'm taking the drive test on April 2nd, and I really really really want to pass it and not have to do it over. really.
so I started work at this juice/smoothie/wrap/panini/soup place on Wednesday. actually it was training, as are tomorrow and this Wednesday, and then I’ll probably start next week with actually working. I'd have you all over for free smoothies…but I would kind of get fired for that. The benefits aren't much and the pay certainly isn't overwhelming, but it's a job and I can work there until we move, whenever that may be. I'm very happy, and it's owned by some old co-op friends so I know people there too. and it's close. hopefully soon I'll be able to drive myself. *crosses fingers* It seems really fun so far.
I'm soooo happy with my laptop too. apparently what I had on my desk is a dinosaur by today's standards (it's like five years old…actually probably less. okaaay….) and so now I'm trying to figure out how to operate Windows Vista, which is supposed to be the same thing but looks totally different. I can't find anything….lol.
there's a new girl in youth group who spells her name exactly the same way I do. she even pronounces it the same way too. I don't think that should be allowed. I was there first – she should change her name to Ichabod or something cool like that. :P
Soon I will be e-mailing all of you who live nearby with info for my recital, in case you want to come and make me really nervous. please keep it in your prayers though, as I’m playing some very difficult (for me) pieces this year which are giving me fits…
life overall has been amazing lately (meaning today – tomorrow I will probably feel like crap but I’m discovering the side effects that come with teenagehood). my mother bought me the Nicholas Nickleby soundtrack, and I have to say that Rachel Portman is about the fifth best movie composer ever! and I’m getting DPS – it’s shipped and coming this week!!!!!!!!!!!!
and Mariner’s Baseball starts in one week, and I’m going to opening night!!!!!!!!!!!!
and by the way, I got my hair cut.
yes, really.
don’t freak out, it’s not that short.
okay, so I cut like five inches off. and got shorter bangs and it’s all layered and tapered and really curly and pretty……anyway I like it and please don’t kill me for not telling you beforehand. ;) it’s not as drastic as last time I did this without telling my friends ha-ha. that was…interesting. she styled it and did it ALL in ringlets so it’s really curly right now, which looks kind of funny….I will have to pull it back for work tomorrow, so we’ll see what happens with it. I’m still trying to figure out what all I can do with it.
and school is going well, and though Easter was very boring because we didn’t do anything, my grandparents were out the day before that and we had a lot of fun, and played LotR trivial pursuit! and today at Starbucks I saw a girl with an Elvish tattoo on her neck (so my mom saw it first and pointed it out, which made me very proud of her that she recognized that it was Elvish)! and our house is back on the market and has had three showings so far, with a few more planned in the future, so hopefully that will turn into an offer…and eventually (soon) a move. *crosses fingers*
I know how you all feel about my really super-long posts, and especially with how infrequent they are, so I’m going to save the India part of this for a couple days. I promise I will try to post much more frequently from here on out. It may be a little easier since I have a laptop now and can draft in the car and stuff like that. we’ll see, but hopefully this works. keep your fingers crossed.
*starts into the highland fling*
*ringlets bounce*
lol, you told me about the hair. :P *highland flings along* *is jealous of bouncing curls* *sighs*
ReplyDeletewe need to talk about the party, kay? and soon. seriously. it'd be in only two weeks. and I got all the cookbooks! (all the three trillion and two of them)
*sniff* Party? *sigh* Tis the disadvantages of living so far away. I do get to make it up at camp though! :-D
ReplyDeleteI am sure your hair looks cute however you style it. So long as it is still long.
But that is just my opinion.
ReplyDeletelol, yeah, it's still what you would call long. just not as long as before (and not as wet ALL DAY, thank goodness!).
ReplyDeleteok, will you be around tomorrow afternoon? I don't work till 6 and I can call you before then.
I should be around this afternoon. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't be. Unless something completely drastic happens. Which is entirely possible. On the other hand unlikely.
ReplyDeleteJust ignore my rant. Yes I will be around this afternoon for you to call. :-)
okaaaay...
ReplyDeleteyes yes, I will try to get all my school and chores, etc. done and my public presentation (yuck) to make all the phone calls I need to!
did you ever notice how similar yuck and yrch sound? I knew there must be a reason why it described my public presentation so accurately.
Hummm....
ReplyDeleteSo....
Yeah....
Did you know I have a pink phone?
Yeah....
I do....
Did you know I have a cool ringtone?
Yeah....
I do....
Did you know I have a cool friend I missed hearing from?
Yeah....
I do....
*sniff*
Tomorrow, k? *puts foot down* No excuses! Hear me Kacy Braunschweig?
oh, I just got my hair cut to! And I have these layers and kind-of bangs. We'll be twins! Except I think mine is shorter, because I had to get it trimmed because of the ends. : ( But it will grow back. And it isn't to short or anything, I'm just partial to long hair.
ReplyDeleteoh how cool! I can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteooohh...there goes Lucy, hitting me with the guilt factor. but honestly, it's not because I forgot if that makes you feel better. I was thinking about it all of yesterday and today. there's a list of about six people I need to call on my desk and you are at the top of it! so I was home most of yesterday until work, but I kept ending up with anothing thing to do....I'm really sowwy.
and today (ask Anna or someone) was thursday, and thursday means tired and gone all day. every thursday. people just don't try to get a hold of me thursday ha-ha.
which means I need to go to bed....*huge yawn*
but I do love you and miss you too, and will call you as soon as I can get to that list - I PROMISE!!!
I know you really do try to get time in to call people. Trust me, it is hard when you have to do anything and everything all at once. That is how it will be for me these next six months. But it is going to be great!
ReplyDelete*hugs* I miss you.
*huggles* I miss you too. all of you.
ReplyDeletebut hey, look on the bright side - it's opening day for the mariners, and I'm going!!!!!!!!!!!
*rolls eyes* whatever makes you happy Verya. They won right?
ReplyDeleteWow. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to call you again soon, okay, Kacy?
yay!!!! okay that makes me very happy.
ReplyDeleteyes, of course they won. hahaha. I think they're 2-2 right now....and playing right now in Baltimore.
I love DPS. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Verya. <3
DPS? Did I miss something?
ReplyDeletebtw, I'm about to have a new post, so check my blog.
ReplyDeleteYes, just be certain to time the checking to the correct "about" time, which is AFTER she makes the new post. ;-)
ReplyDeleteummm....okaaaay.
ReplyDeletesisters. one of the mysteries of life I'll never quite fully understand. exchange students can only get you so far you know.
DPS - Dead Poet's Society, amazing movie. :) that's what my title is from actually...one of my favorite movie scenes of all time. just a warning though - if you watch it, there are like two scenes in it that you need to skip so your parents should see it first.
I'm actually thinking about posting that scene again........ *big grin*
www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFnILW2TrNc
ReplyDeletethis ought to be the clip from the movie of the deskset scene. of course I can't tell, because I can't watch movies with dial-up but I googled it and this is the first thing that came up. *sigh* I love DPS.
haha! You know, I actually remember that scene. Don't ask me to remember what the rest of the movie was about. Lindy watched it again here more recently when I wasn't home.
ReplyDeleteBTW, KACY!!!!!!! When are we going to hear about your India trip? We have all been waiting with such anticipation! Cliff hangers are so painful sometimes. . . .
ReplyDelete*snaps* Come on!
oh.....umm......ahhhh........
ReplyDelete*looks other way*
