If you trust nothing else, trust this...trust us.

Hi peoples! I have a new blog for my web technology class…it's going to be super boring and you probably won't want to go to it, but it's www.webtechclass.blogspot.com.
I doubt it'll see much action.

I really seriously am going to post pics of my piano soon, but I have to get them onto my computer, or post from my Mom's. So it might be a couple days before I can get everything together. There will be something though!

What books are people reading? I was so shocked, Lego you have nothing under the books being or to be read section!!! I know it's just not updated, but still, don’t give us such horrible ideas! I'm reading Jane Eyre. It's very…interesting. I'm not terribly far into it yet. My Mom has this summer reading thing that we started when I was little, so there are like six prizes, and the more pages I read the better the prizes get (i.e. ice cream party, camping, new books, etc.). The list is getting a little updated this year (direct result of you more "classical" homeschoolers' influence, lol). And I'm thinking Dickens. don't know why, just am. Em and i were agreeing and marveling about how wonderful he is with characters! I hope to someday create at least one character half as good as one of his. maybe.

Ok, so here are a couple of songs I wrote like last month and just never posted. since I seem to be trying to set a record for the longest amount of time not posting or something. anyway, here they are (they were supposed to be in honor of Back to Middle Earth month, but didn't quite make it in time):

This one's a non-rhyming poem (obviously). It would sound a lot better in Elvish (practically everything does, right?), so I'll post it in Elvish if I ever get time to translate it [yeah right!]. Don't have a name for it, and I'm open for suggestions.

Sunlight has dimmed, it is gone.
Moonlight has vanished, disappeared behind the clouds.
Twilight has come, and it has come without a star.
Here in the dark, I cannot find you.

There were seven stars clustered around one white tree.
Now the stars are hidden and the tree is withered.
Darkness chokes all that is left of freedom;
In this eternal darkness, will I ever find you?

Numenor has faded, its glory all but spent.
Those true and loyal are no more.
Now black clouds approach from Mordor,
You are lost! I cannot find you.

Here in this eternal night you are lost,
Darkness has swallowed light, and you are lost.

In this one the parts in italics are meant for a choir, even though I haven't got a tune yet. It's kind of like Gandalf's Lament where everyone sings at once I guess. Let me know what you guys think.

(By the way "estelio han" means "trust this", and "estelio veleth" means "trust love". Most of this is stolen from LotR, ha-ha.)

Estelio Veleth…

Ai!

Tinuviel! Tinuviel!
Elven maiden, love-bereft. Estelio han…
Arwen Undomiel! (About him cast her shadowy hair)
What is there to trust when hope has left? Estelio veleth…

You will look,
But never will you see him coming home again to thee.
You are…fated.
Silver starlight hidden through the leaves of a dead white tree

(About him cast her shadowy hair
And arms like silver glimmering)

Tinuviel! Tinuviel!
Here you will linger, after death's bite. Estelio han…
Arwen Undomiel! (And arms like silver glimmering)
Here in the forests of the night. Estelio veleth…

You will look,
But never will you see him coming home again to thee.
You are…fated.
Silver starlight hidden through the leaves of a dead white tree

Tinuviel! Tinuviel!
I told you that this day would come. Estelio han…
Arwen Undomiel! (Sorrowing you go)
There is no warmth left in the sun. (Eternal night) Estelio veleth…

You will look,
But never will you see him coming home again to thee.
You are…fated.
Separated from your love, he has gone across the sea. (Never to return…to thee)

Sorrowing you go (yet you are not without hope).

Ai!

  1. Those are so cool! I really like them both. It would be really cool if you got a tune for them.

  3. I do too have something under being read and to be read.

you just have to highlight it because I haven't gotten around to changing the text indicator so that it's not the same color as the background.

and obviously I'm reading LOTR. waiting for Northanger Abbey from the library. considering Bleak House by Dickens or Ossian as my next starting point.

and I like the LOTR songs! we could work out the melody together if you can't find one!

  4. That would be GREAT! Because...well yeah. that would be great. maybe during paging week we can dink around on our respective instruments or something.

Ha-ha that's very funny! I'll have to take a look. I'm trying to get around to picking up Persuasion again, but I want to finish Jane Eyre first. Then I might actually move straight into Nicholas Nickleby, depending on when I finish Jane Eyre and what I'm feeling like writing-wise, I guess. We'll see. I've been so indecisive lately...

Oh and I took the test again and I'm an INFJ now, not and INTJ. Which changes me from a rationalist to and idealist. I knew something was different...lol.
