CooCoo for Coco Puffs!!!!!!

Came to mind while I was thinking random thoughts for an interesting blog title. I know, it really doesn't make any sense...

Am I Jekyll or Hyde?
There's this feeling inside
That I just can't ignore
I can't close up the door.
'Cause I want to shut it out
And I want to turn about
But at the same time it's gone
A new feeling comes on.
Then it's back to Mr. Hyde
I am starting to slide.
Jekyll pulls him back up
But he's running out of luck.
The battle keeps going
And my feelings are growing
To a climax I have to reach
A feeling I cannot breach.

What am I capable of doing to myself?
Can I hurt others like I've hurt my soul?
It scares me to think that I can do this to anyone, anytime.
Will I choose Jekyll or Hyde?

Hyde has more fun
But he's always on the run.
Jekyll is good
But not all he could be.
Nervous and timid
Versus dangerous and livid
I cannot yet choose
Which monster should loose.
Whose true colors to show
As I take out my bow.
What type of poison to bring?
As I fit arrow to string…
Words shoot from my mouth
This isn't what life's all about!
But I can't find the place
To give both enemies their space.

Yeah, yeah, yeah,
It feels like a race that can never end till
Somebody wins, but nobody can.
I don't know what to do as this battle rages in my soul.
Will I choose Jekyll or Hyde?
Will I choose Jekyll or Hyde?
Will I choose Jekyll or Hyde?

Guess what?!?!?!?!? On Monday...oh you'll never guess! I'm going to visit my penpals who I've only met once and that was over two years ago! I'm soooo excited!!!!!!! I met them when I showed them some of my poetry at the Fair two years ago, and then we kinda hit it off, and we've been writing ever since. They don't have email, so it's really fun to actually write real letters and get real letters in the mail. So that's been really fun. We're gonna drive up and see them up North. I can't wait!
Jack is the one who writes most of the letters. He was born in St. Louis, and hitchhiked by himself all the way up here just to see the World's Fair. Then he got a job with Boing (I think) and lived out of a hotel for a little while, got homesick, moved back to Kansas (where he had moved to after St. Louis), eventually got married and came back here. He just retired from The Gear Works, and actually, he made the replacement gear that makes the restaurant on the Space N. go around! Which is really cool 'cause he got to see it being built from his hotel window before the World's Fair! He's made a lot of cool stuff. Someday I'll write a little more and post some more pics. Maybe Monday...
Ione is his wife's name. Isn't that pretty?
Oh yeah! I'm sore! I almost forgot, haha. :)
You know why I'm sore? Because I did my first 18 hole golf round yesterday morning!
So, I won't bore you with all the details, but we got invited to go out at 6:40 AM! (yes, you saw correctly) yesterday morning, and so my dad said yes (!) and we went!
And I shot a 125!!!!!!! If you don't know golf, what the pros shoot (like Tiger) is around 70. It's how many times you have to hit the ball throughout the 18 holes to get it in the hole. Then people like my dad and his friends...they shoot more like 90-100. Not quite so good as Tiger...you know! Haha. Anyway when I went the first time for 9 holes I shot an 89 (multiplied by two for 18 holes - 178), which isn't horrible for my first time. Then I had my first three lessons, and now I have a score of 125!!!! And the course is very narrow - lots of trees - so that was actually very good for me! And on the golf team I want to join next year, you have to be between 100-120. I still have two more lessons and the whole year to get better! So if I knock say 20-30 strokes off of my score (which I think I can do) then I'll be in pretty good shape!
But think about why I'm sore: 4 miles walking, including hills, plus golf uses (seriously) almost every single muscle in your body! But it was soooo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess that's about it. I'm gonna go to bed now. *sleepy yawn*
G'night everyone! See ya tomorrow!

  1. Yeah! Just not locally anymore...it'll probably come around again sometime soon. I think it was in like Florence or somewhere around there last year.
    Post later.
