Swiss cheese with cookie dough tastes gross together

Ah, not too much to write about. Actually nothing to write about. I just thought I'd post…for no reason. The new PotC III trailer is out!!!!!!!! I think it was out yesterday actually, but I couldn't see it. I tried to look last night, but the picture never loaded so I wasn't sure if it was real or not…it could've been another stupid fan-made thingy. Anyway, we were at a high-speed place today and downloaded it. I think I've seen it...six times? Have to have these things memorized you know!

Oh I'm so bored. I can't believe we have to wait two whole months and five whole days to see it! Does anyone want to do polynomials for me? No takers? Oh well. Wait how about chemistry? I have my third quarter exam tonight. ughh :(

My dad has decided that he wants to learn piano. You know, teaching piano is so much easier than I thought it would be, and he's a really good student. My new piano just screams "play me!" My teacher wants me to start taking students, so I guess my dad is practice. After we move I'm going to take some more students. I'm actually kind of excited! Of course, teaching an adult is much easier than teaching a child. They catch on to the basics so much faster. But dad says I'm a good teacher...

Last weekend we went to Portland to see the Report Service for the team that went to India this year (same organization I went with last year). It was really great…I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen since last year. And of course we acted just as if we'd seen each other 5 minutes ago. Funny how things like that happen when you spend three weeks with someone in a foreign country. ;) Then we went to my aunt's house and some cousins came over for an Indian lunch. That was…mmmm really good. One of my cousins is putting together a video of family members talking about my aunt for my aunt's birthday (memories and stuff), and he video-taped me talking about us in India. It was hilarious…I talked about how the elevator plays this super-annoying mechanical-sounding version of Fur Elise every time you open the door! So then my cousin taped me playing Fur Elise on the piano to put with it!!! My aunt always hated that, so we usually always took the stairs. Good exercise she said. Five flights of stairs morning noon and night and sometimes in-between. She was right though, it was good exercise.

And then I said something about how the only elephants we saw were from behind, and they were painted, and my aunt's like "I wouldn't like to have the job of painting the elephants!" Ah…good times.

Also, one of the team leaders wants me and my family to go on a trip next year. Before, my mom didn't want to go. Which is fine, she didn't feel called to go. Now she's like "maybe." Maybe!!! And I have until September to turn maybe in to a yes.

Ok, that's about it. Everyone else post soon!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*excitement*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOSH – I'm getting my braces off in 15 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sooooo super-excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our God is an awesom God

Isn't God awesome?

I was praying this morning, and thanking God for His unconditional love for us, and thinking, WOW, He has promised never to leave us or forsake us. He has promised to keep us. He has promised never to destroy the earth by flood again (though looking around I don't think people in Noah's time could've been a whole lot worse than the world today strives to be). And I was thinking, we are God's creation, and He has every right to destroy us if He wants to.

Compare it to this: You drew a self portrait, or made a model of yourself in clay. It's perfect, and then your dog comes and messes it up a little (or a lot!). Sometimes you can't even tell that it was supposed to look like you. Wouldn't we as humans take our flawed image, destroy it, and start again? But how much grace does God show us, we who are made in His image but are so flawed, in even allowing us to exist? Instead of constantly seeing our flaws and hating them, He loves us simply because we are His creation, his handiwork. He loves it when we get past the flaws and try to reflect Him to the world. He loves us even when we hate Him, resist Him, try to get away from Him, don't even pretend to try to look like Him

Isn't God amazing?

OH MY GOODNESS

So, I would've posted about this sooner, but, well, you know how it is...

There's a brand new baby grand piano sitting in my living room where the old one used to be.

*goes crazy* AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'ts been there since Thursday night. I can't believe I haven't posted about it sooner, but I've been busy, you know, playing it. ;)

I guess what happened is that my teacher (who also rents, buys, sells, and trades pianos in a business with her husband) told my parents that I wouldn't be able to progress a lot more with the piano I had. And she convinced them to come look at some new ones.
So Wednesday night they told me they we going on their date, but they really went to her studio and bought a gorgeous Hallet, Davis & Co. mahogany baby grand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then they came home and told me, and Thursday my teacher and her husband brought my new baby!!!!!!

I'll try and get a picture up soon. She's soooooo pretty!!!

P.S.
Now my dad wants to learn how to play! He learned how to play a C Major scale last night.

BTW, Under Construction is a really stupid name for a blog. I'm changing it soon. Any suggestions?

*hums Medallion Calls* what do you all think of adding the cowbell to that?

dun, da dun dun dun, da dun, da dun dun dun, da dun, da dun dun dun da dun (dun) dun (dun) dun (dun)....

ok, that looks stupid. why can't I post little music notes up there or something? I'm sure there's a way but...oh well. I don't want to think that hard right now.

Friday night was amazing! thank you all so much for getting me involved, inviting me, practicing with me, etc. There is so much talent in your church!

What were everyones favorites? I loved the swing dancing, Sanctuary, of course the Irish Dancing (duh), Sam...DUH. wow Sam you are...is there really a better word than amazing? inspiring perhaps? i'm so glad I was in the second row for that. of course I'm a little prejudiced towards piano, ha-ha. All involved with the Celtic Reel did an amazing job! I'm sorry, I know it wasn't really funny, but Anna you practiced pressing the play button so hard and then the first CD player didn't work! ah well, our fine dancers quite made up for the short delay.

So Lego, how many acts were you not in? Ha-ha, you did a wonderful job with everything!

I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL MAY 25TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two months...so long to ask!!!

And then Camp Hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Three months...actually almost four...so long to ask!!!

Does it ever seem like life is just one big long process of waiting, without much doing? What do we do to help stay patient, to actually do instead of just anticipating things that in reality we don't even know if we will get to do? We could die tomorrow and have spent so much time anticipating that we don't even stop to see the beauty in the world around us, we just pass the precious moments by and never stop to see them. I think maybe, in a sense of time, we are all farsighted. Hmmm...

I've told a few of you but for those of you who didn't know or forgot (lol) we're moving this summer about 20-30 minutes closer towards Lego's house...in that general direction. I don't think this will really change our interaction with each other (or lack thereof, ha-ha Eowyn, Em), except that we will have high-speed internet (yes!)...no more dial-up!!! So I'll probably be able to learn how to make templates and stuff like that a lot easier.

Well that's about it. How was everyone's weekend?

slight correction:

The Portuguese subsequently held control of Singapore in the 16th century, the Dutch in the 17th, but most of this time the island was occupied by mainly fishermen and occasional pirates.

Singapore wasn't established until 1819 by the English, but it was populated with pirates back in the 16th century! Way to go Disney for getting it right!

Is it annual "don't post on your blog" month?

Hey all, just checking to see if anyone is still interested in this little world we live in when we're tired of the real one....I miss you peoples!!!!!!!!!

anyway, I posted on village square yesterday. and I'm posting here today. and I'm commenting on peoples' blogs. and I want everyone else to do it too. say what you've been doing that's keeping you so busy. we don't really care if it's interesting, because honestly people, most of the stuff we ever write about on our own blogs is anything but! however, being part of the lives of our friends, it is always interesting to us, and we can usually misunderstand and misinterpret each other, or go on talking in random conversations about really nothing at all for a loooong time.

Ok, so my big piece of news is that PotC: At Worlds End trailer is either coming out this weekend or on the 19th or 20th. No one seems to know for sure, so that's the best I can do. imdb.com also has some neat info, I won't give away any spoilers here (mainly because I don't know any), but you can look there if you want a thread of a plot. Honestly, how can you go up to two months before a movie's release and still not have the stupid trailer out!!!!! waaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!
*cries*
ok, I'm good. interesting tid-bit: Singapore wasn't even established until 1819, long after PotC.
