Ok WOW. Tons to talk about if I can remember it all. First of all we went to the Seattle library on Tuesday and Mom found this CD by Caedman's Call called "Share the Well," and let's just say I've listened to it 3 times today. It's all about the band's trips to Ecuador, India and somewhere else that I can't remember right now. I guess they're very into reaching out to the world, and all of the songs on this CD are based off of experiences from their trips. I highly recommend the CD - it's awesome!
Ok, just had to say that. In other news, we went to the Seattle Children's Theater on Tuesday and saw Afternoon of the Elves. It was pretty good. I just wish that they would use more children for the child roles, but they always do a really good job anyway. Then we went to the library and I got a Hindi book that I can't read yet....yeah. Not entirely sure why I did that but it's good practice for reading the script.
(A side note here that none of this will be in the order of my life over the past few weeks, kind of random, but I'll try to get most of it in some place or another)
Last Saturday I had a cat show, which went ok. I got third in fitting and showing, which was kind of disappointing because there was a three-way tie for first (we all had a perfect 100) and then I pretty much blew the tie-breaker. I'm really happy that I had a 100 though, and third is nothing to complain about, ha-ha. ;) My cat got 4th, which I wasn't too happy with because she was not happy that day and it was all because of temperament. I had hoped she'd do better because her judge was the same judge who gave her 1st place at State Fair, but I have to keep reminding myself that like 8 cats didn't even make it to the top ten, so 4th is really nothing to complain about either. And I got 4th in knowlege, no wait, in judging not knowlege! which is really good because I thought I was going to get a red ribbon, so...
It was our cat show and we had to do all the set up for like an hour beforehand, while my cat just sat in her carrier, so I think that's why she was mad. that and I forgot to feed her lunch until an hour after her usual lunchtime. oops.
After the show we went to my grandparent's house for my dad's familys' monthly ethnic potluck, and this month it was Chinese. very.....interesting. No just kidding it was a lot of fun. All the food that I tried was good (it was probably very Americanized, like I know our Indian food always turns out to be somehow), and I got to spend some time with one of my cousins who I don't see often. Even though she is a few years older she is probably (gasp) my favorite cousin. That might sound horrid to you peoples who love all of your cousins (or at least have had pretty much the same cousins your whole life) but I'm not so fortunate, and sometimes I think that most of my cousins really could care less about each other. This particular one happens to be the daughter of the aunt I have the most in common with, so we ususally all have a lot of fun together. She's going to Spain in the summer with her school (best score in her Spanish class or something impressive) so we talked about that a little. My cat got locked in the bedroom upstairs after meeting the dog. I was soooo proud of her though! the dog (big black lab or rotweiler or some sort of mix) was sniffing her with its owner holding it, while I was holding my cat, and Comet didn't even hiss or anything! she just looked really annoyed, and considering how big the house was and how many people we coming in and out (and all the little kids that I know bug her) I decided to put her in one room. She found a very cozy bed though I think.
I had my bible study Wednesday night, which was nice because we haven't met in five weeks! We meet the first and third Wednesday of every month, and on the first this month their church had an anual business meeting, and January was a five-week month, so I was feeling deprived. *sniff* we talked about crushes and how to handle them, which was really neat the way they handled it in connecting it with spiritual purity as well as mental and physical. There were some cool verses with it talking about purity in general. The basic thing I guess was that it's not a sin to have a crush, because it's something that happens naturally, but that letting the crush go to far is when sin comes in, and how to avoid that. it was really neat. Which brings me to the question, when are we gonna start the alleged bible study on village square? I'll ask about that over there too, since I know a lot of people don't get over here often.
the rain in Bombay falls on the righteous and the wrong / and there is no way for me to understand / faces pull towards me like the sea to the moon / eyes like diamonds in the sun / Abraham's grains of sand spilling over the streets / a wave of statistics...
oh my gosh these children are adorable...
When are other people gonna start posting again? or e-mailing? or doing something besides school because I know that's what it is!
I can't really think of anything else...
oh yes of course I can! oh, sometimes I'm really stupid. My dad took me golfing on Monday, in the rain and the wind and the gross mud, and we had an absolute blast!!! I shot a 137, my absolute worst score ever (I've only golfed twice including this lol), but not bad considering the weather. And I got my first par!!!! (for those of you non-golfers who really have no clue about golfing terms, par is the number of shots that "they" think it should take you to make it from the tee to the hole. It's different for every hole, on this particular one it was three) So I know none of you care, but I'm going to decribe it in detail anyway. So I over-drove the green with my i-wood (a cross between an iron and a wood), then had to use my pitching wedge to get it over this little hill back up onto the green, and then had this 6-foot put which was full of pressure as you can image, for my dad told me that when I got my first par we could go to Cold Stone!!! So that was very exciting. I hope to do better in the summer when we can get out more and it will be nicer, and to practice my putting and chipping a LOT more before then, because that's why I'm up so high now. Dad told me that putting and chipping (your "short game") constitutes a third of your score! So I hope to bring down my score a lot. REMEMBER:
Bowling - high score good
Golf - high score bad
School has been going pretty well, but very busy. Civics is probably keeping me more busy than chemistry, and thank goodness chemistry has like a three-week break starting next week. Then I have my 3rd-quarter test in chemistry, but I have three weeks to study for it, so that should go fairly well. I'm finding lots of creative uses for my calligraphy writing. does anyone else do calligraphy? You all have hidden talents that I'm unaware of...
Well, I hope you're all very happy that I've done my duty and posted. Now off to dinner....
